The Jam - Start!

On this date in 1980, The Jam released their fourteenth single, "Start!". It was backed by "Liza Radley". The A side appeared on their fifth album, Sound Affects. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #1 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Woking, England punk/mod revivalist band disbanded in 1982 after six studio albums. Paul Weller went on to form The Style Council. Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler have toured together since but Paul Weller has no interest in a reunion.
