Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers - Egyptian Reggae

On this date in 1977, Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers released their fourth single, "Egyptian Reggae". It was backed by "Roller Coaster By The Sea". Both tracks appeared on their third album, Rock 'N' Roll With The Modern Lovers. The Boston, Massachusetts proto-punk band once included drummer David Robinson (who left to join The Cars) and Jerry Harrison (who left to join Talking Heads). While The Modern Lovers no longer exist, Jonathan Richman is still performing.
