Birmingham's female fronted Sacrilege made 2 LP's, one mini LP and appeared on a slew of 80's punk/hardcore/metal compilations as well as various demos. For those of you who have not heard this band, track down "Behind The Realms of Madness" for a crust punk fist fucking of metallic proportions. With Tam leading the band on vocals, they already had a lot more than most crusties bargained for.
Formally known as "Warwound" in '83, soon thereafter formed Sacrilege with Damian from the Varukers in 1984. In '85 they recorded their first demos and were featured on the classic "Anglican Scrape Attic" flexi 7" in 1985.
In '85 they released "Behind The Realms Of Madness".
In '86 they released "Within the Prophecy" (Their first LP.)
In 1989, they released this LP (their 2nd) entitled "Turn Back Trilobite" which saw the band gathering distance from their thrash core origins into a more doom and gloom perspective and sound. In 1990 the band split.
A concept record in a sort, this album was recorded a little too clean in my opinion and could've used some dirtying up, with that said it still takes incredible Sabbathy riffing with Tam's distinct narrative weaving in and out the darkness. Notwithstanding the turn in sound, this is still highly recommended in that it doesn't resemble another record in my collection. Yet another ripped at 320.
