Band members : Alan Wilson (guitar/vocals)- founder member - served from the start to the end, Hodge (drums) - 1982 - 1995-ish, Steve Whitehouse (slap bass/vocals) 1982 - 1983, then 1994 - the end, Gary Day (slap bass) 1992 - 1994, Ben Cooper (drums) 1995 - 1997, Carl Parry (drums) 1997 - 1999

Formed in the late 70's by Alan Wilson, the Sharks started as a Rockabilly band, but later moved towards a more psychobilly feel. Steve Whitehouse and Hodge joined in 1982. The band's first album 'Phantom Rockers' was released soon afterwards on Nervous Records. The band later spilt in 1983......

Steve went on to form Frenzy. Alan went on to carve a career as a record producer..... and now owns a label and studio. Hodge could often be found playing in either Frenzy or some of Alan's studio and live projects..... he now resides in Spain.

The Sharks re-formed with Alan Wilson on Guitar/vocals, Gary Day on bass in 1993 and Hodge on drums and released the album 'Recreational Killer' on Cherry Red/Anagram records and the 12" EP 'Bitch Attack' (Vinyl Japan).

In 1995 Steve returned when Gary left to re-join Morrissey. The next album was 'Colour My Flesh' in 1995 - again on Cherry Red/Anagram. Other releases included 'Ruff Stuff' - an album of demos and the vinyl EP 'Sir Psycho' (Fury).

Since then there have been some live albums and other bits and pieces including a 25 track 'Best Of' CD and some DVD appearances. The band still occasionally record, but quit live performances in 1999 - mailnly due to Alan's busy career as a producer. So promoters.... please don't keep asking the band to tour the States as the answer is most definitely; "Thanks but no thanks". It just ain't gonna happen. Well, not in the foreseeable future.

Nowadays, Steve can still be found either playing live or recording with Frenzy. Gary was still with Morrissey the last time anyone looked. Hodge lives in Spain. Alan is a producer and also owns a studio and label and also manages a few other labels for the Cherry Red records group.

Corrían los años 80 cuando el punkabilly tuvo un hijo (sin duda bastardo) que dio en llamarse PORNOBILLY, género que empleaba las bases melódico rítmicas del rockabilly con letras sexualmente explícitas, y cuyos adalides fueron, en primera instancia, Buck Naked and the Bare Bottom Boys

En España, este estilo no cuajó demasiado bien, y el único grupo del que tengo constancia son los madrileños Soriti. Dada la absoluta inexistencia de una biografía oficial, tendré que transcribir lo poco que se de primera y segunda mano.

Al parecer, los miembros del grupo eran chusma de la peor calaña. Unos borrachuzos mal encarados y bronquistas. Y además, unos chorizos, intenté ir a verlos a la antigua sala Universal, y la entrada era tan cara que pasamos y nos fuimos de litros al parque más próximo (¡debían más de 1000 pelas allá por el 87, acababa de ver a Siniestro Total por 900! )

Eran famosos porque sus conciertos tendían a acabar en bronca. Me han contado la historia de un concierto suyo en Alcobendas. Un tipo salió del concierto enseñando asombrado su navaja rota, la había partido contra la cabeza de un tipo que ni siquiera se dió por enterado

Bueno, pues después de bucear masivamente por internet, he conseguido que me pasen una copia digitalizada de su magnífica maqueta (thanks, Paco P) La calidad del sonido no es óptima (hablamos de la distribución en cintas de las maquetas en los 80) pero aceptable.
